Before we left Talkeetna, we ate breakfast at the roadhouse, again. Pancakes were so big they fell over the edges of the plate, and there was enough food for four between the two of us. We met some census workers who told us they go around on ATVs with guns in the back to take the census. Either that or helicopters. A lot harder than in socal. We stopped by the ranger station for a talk about climbing Mt. McKinley. It was more for kids, but it was still informative. Oh, and this is the size of a grizzley bear paw. My hand starts at the bottom of its paw. Here are a few pictures from our drive to Fairbanks. We passed by a fox with a big hare in its mouth right in the middle of the highway. This was the best shot we got of him.
We arrived in Fairbanks, set up camp and ate dinner by the campfire.
